Things You Should Know For Our Epilator Reviews

The classic shaving, the use of a cream, waxing or epilation – there are many ways to get rid of annoying or unnecessary hair. The “modern” woman in today’s world is expected to use one of these variants to remove at least the hair on her legs. Our Epilator Test allows you to achieve a very efficient epilation quite painless.

A smooth skin without having to go to the beautician, that is what matters at an epilator

Every two to three days, stubbles have to be wiped off from the razor blade at a wet shave technique. There are also all sorts of chemical additives in the depilatory cream which lubricates the skin. For the waxing technique, the services of a beautician of trust are needed.

But while the epilation principle is similar to that of the waxing process, since the hair is removed in both techniques at its root, instead of using wax strips, epilation will grip and pluck the hair out at the root, using rotating tweezers. Compared to the shaving process, this technique if more painful, however, the result is that legs and other body parts can remain smooth and free of hair as long as two to four weeks, which is why the epilation process is becoming increasingly popular.

There are a number of electric epilators that differ in price, features showed and performance. To help you find the right one for you, we have tested a large range of devices currently available on market.

The following criteria were particularly considered in our Epilator Test:

  • Thoroughness and skin protection: Epilators should have a thorough removal of the hair and should irritate the skin as little as possible. If the hair is thoroughly removed, you do not have to repeat the epilation more than once on the same body part. This is time saving and causes less skin irritation. The process is obviously not completely without pain, since the entire hair is pulled out with its root. In the same time, redness of the epilated skin areas cannot be completely avoided and may be visible even hours after hair removal, especially for those with a lighter skin.
  • Processing: The processing time and the materials used also play a role in the durability of a device, as well as its bothering sound volume. The life of the batteries used by the producers should also not be easily disregarded. We do not want to see a too fast drop in performance!
  • Handling: The use of an epilator remained basically the same over time, and is actually quite straightforward. Important here is that any existing attachments shall be easy to change and the cleaning of the device shall be possible in a quick and easy manner. Some devices can be simply rinsed under running water.
  • Features: Different models offer different features. For different skin areas (e.g. bikini line) or for a shaving function, manufacturers have produced different attachments. In addition to these, the market offers various extras, like travel cases, cleaning brushes or possibility to choose different speeds, which can be quite useful.
  • Price: Depending on the features and manufacturers, the price falls in different categories. The entry-level devices cost about 30£, while you can spend more than 100£ on the more expensive models. Even with the cheap devices, you can make it hair-free through the summer, but you have to make concessions for some features.

For who is the Epilator the right hair remover?

Epilators are the perfect choice for women who want a shiny skin with a smooth and hair-free aspect on long-term. But of course, men may want to depilate, too, but there is no special epilator made for men.

In our Epilator Test we show you how to find the right epilator and which models fit best your needs.
